These general terms and conditions apply to all services and online education provided by TGA Utbildning AB, reg. no. 556575-3901, under the trademark GamedevStation “GDS”. This includes paid courses, company training, skills development, workshops, events, and other related services.
Any specific conditions for a particular course will be provided in the course-specific information available at registration, admission, and course start or access.
1. Course Types
GDS provides two types of online education:
- Fully Digital On-Demand Courses, which consist of pre-recorded materials and self-paced modules delivered via the Canvas platform.
- Live Online Courses, which include real-time sessions, group discussions, and interaction with instructors via Discord.
Course-specific information will clearly state which course type applies. Unless otherwise specified, all general terms apply to both.
2. Course Registration
Registration must be completed via the digital application form on GDS’s website (www.gamedevstation.com). Payment for the course fee is made immediately at the time of registration by credit or debit card.
For On-Demand Courses, access to the course content is granted immediately upon successful payment. The Student will receive an automatic email from Canvas with instructions to create an account and log in.
For Live Online Courses, the purchaser books a place for a specific course with pre-defined dates. Access to live sessions and related materials will be provided according to the course schedule.
Registration is binding, except as specified under “Rights of Withdrawal” below for consumers.
If the purchaser is a legal entity, the name of the person who will attend the course (the “Student”) must be specified at the time of registration. If the Student is unable to participate, the purchaser may substitute the Student by notifying GDS before the course starts.
3. Course Start and Access
- For On-Demand Courses, the course start means the date when the Student is granted immediate access to the course materials on Canvas following successful payment.
- For Live Online Courses, the course start means the scheduled date when the first real-time session takes place via Discord. Course dates and times are shown during the booking process.
Before the course start or access date, the purchaser will receive an email with login credentials, syllabus, schedule (if applicable), and technical instructions. For On-Demand Courses, an automatic email will guide the Student through account creation and access.
If the start or access date changes, GDS will notify the purchaser well in advance.
4. Course Fee and Payment
The course fee is clearly stated on the GDS website and must be paid immediately by credit or debit card at the time of registration. No invoicing is available. The course fee is the total price including VAT, which will be specified at checkout.
Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.
5. Platforms, Study Materials, Technology and Equipment
Fully Digital On-Demand Courses are delivered via Canvas and are accessible immediately upon payment.
Live Online Courses are delivered via Discord on the scheduled dates and times.
The purchaser/Student must have appropriate digital devices, a stable internet connection, and any required software installed to participate. For On-Demand Courses, the Student must ensure their device can access the Canvas platform.
6. Rights of Withdrawal (Consumers)
If the purchaser is a natural (physical) person (i.e., a consumer, and not a legal person), they have the right to withdraw from the course in accordance with the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (SFS 2005:59). The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day after the binding purchase is concluded. If the withdrawal period ends on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, it extends to the next weekday. If the purchaser cancels within this period, they are entitled to a full refund of the course fee.
If the course begins during the withdrawal period, GDS will request explicit consent for the course to start. In the case of a Live Online Course, the purchaser acknowledges that he/she will be required to repay a proportional part of the agreed upon price once such consent has been given and the purchaser has initiated the downloading or streaming of the digital course content. In the case of an On-Demand Course, the purchaser acknowledges that he/she will lose its right to withdraw from the course once such consent has been given and the purchaser has initiated the downloading or streaming of the digital course content.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the purchaser must notify GDS in writing before the withdrawal period expires by completing and sending the attached withdrawal form to gamedevstation.
For corporate orders, no right of withdrawal applies after the agreement has been entered into. In the event that the right of withdrawal does not apply, either because the withdrawal period has expired or because the right of withdrawal is otherwise not applicable, the participant undertakes to pay the full tuition fee.
7. General Right of Withdrawal (Consumers and legal persons, Live Online Courses Only)
In addition to the statutory withdrawal right for consumers, the following shall apply for all purchasers of Live Online Courses (the reason this voluntary right of withdrawal does not apply to On-Demand Courses is because these courses are accessible immediately after purchase):
- The purchaser may cancel their place up to four (4) weeks before the course start date. In such case, 50% of the course fee will be refunded.
- If the Student is unable to attend due to a permanent obstacle, such as long-term illness or serious injury that could not have been foreseen, the full course fee — or, if the course has already started, a portion corresponding to the remaining sessions — will be refunded, minus a 20% administrative fee. The purchaser shall cancel the course in writing and supporting documentation (e.g., medical certificate) must be provided.
8. Cancelled Course or Changed Times (Live Online Courses Only)
GDS reserves the right to cancel a Live Course, for example (non-exhaustive) due to insufficient applicants or unforeseen obstacles. If a course is cancelled, GDS will inform the purchaser at least one week before the start or access date. If a course is cancelled, the purchaser always has the right to receive a full refund or, if possible, transfer to the next available course. The same applies if GDS is forced to change the timing of the course sessions in a way that means that the purchaser cannot participate in the course. Refunds will be made as soon as possible and no later than 10 working days after notification.
9. Intellectual Property Rights
All course materials, including all intellectual property rights of such materials, provided by GDS during the course are, and remain, the sole property of GDS, whether the material has been adapted, written or customized for the purchaser or not.
The purchaser is not entitled to give any other person access to the online course, other than the Student stated in the application form.
10. Processing of Personal Data
Our privacy policy explains how GDS handles your personal data when you, for example, attend a course with us, visit our website, make an expression of interest, and request targeted information and marketing from us. Please read our full privacy policy here.
11. Absence (Live Online Courses Only)
If the Student does not attend one or more live sessions for reasons other than those stated above, they will not receive financial compensation. However, subject to availability, GDS may offer the Student another course opportunity.
This section on absence only applies to Live Online Courses. For On-Demand Courses, the Student retains access for the agreed period regardless of attendance.
12. Evaluation
To help GDS continuously improve its courses, the Student will be asked to participate in an anonymous voluntary evaluation at the end of the course.
13. Complaints
If the purchaser or Student is dissatisfied with a course, they should contact the course leader (contact person) by emailing gamedevstation. If the parties cannot agree on a solution, the purchaser or Student may contact the General Complaints Board (ARN) at https://www.arn.se/om-arn/Languages/english-what-is-arn/. GDS comply with ARN’s decisions.
14. Disputes and Governing Law
This contract, which means the agreement between GDS and the purchaser including these terms and conditions, is governed by the substantive law of Sweden.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising from or in connection with this contract, or its breach, termination, or invalidity, shall be finally settled by arbitration in accordance with the Rules for Expedited Arbitrations of the SCC Arbitration Institute. The seat of arbitration shall be Stockholm. The language of the proceedings shall be Swedish.
15. Force Majeure and external platforms
GDS is not liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations if the delay or failure is due to circumstances beyond GDS’s reasonable control, including but not limited to technical interruptions, server downtime, or other operational disruptions in third-party platforms such as Discord or Canvas.
In the event of any significant disruption, GDS will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative solution, such as rescheduling live sessions, extending access to On-Demand Courses, or arranging equivalent replacement services when possible.
